Gatherer Card Rulings [Nov 2009]

  • 9/16/2007: This is a characteristic-defining ability. It works in all zones. If the Kobolds loses all abilities (due to a card like Ovinize), it will still be red because the effect from this ability is applied before the "lose all abilities" effect is applied.
  • 10/1/2009: If this is affected by a text-changing effect that changes the color word in its ability (if it's targeted by Sleight of Mind, for example), then it's ability will cause it to be the new color word. That's because the text-changing effect is applied before the color-setting ability is applied.
