Artifact, 2 (2)
{X}: You may choose a creature card in your hand whose mana cost could be paid by some amount of, or all of, the mana you spent on {X}. If you do, you may cast that card face down as a 2/2 creature spell without paying its mana cost. If the creature that spell becomes as it resolves has not been turned face up and would assign or deal damage, be dealt damage, or become tapped, instead it's turned face up and assigns or deals damage, is dealt damage, or becomes tapped. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.1

- 10/4/2004: If the Mask is destroyed, the creatures still remain face-down until one of the conditions of turning it over are met.
- 10/4/2004: The creature enters play face down, so none of its "comes into play" abilities will trigger or have any effect. Also none of the "If this would come into play" abilities apply.
- 10/4/2004: The controller may turn it face up any time that player has priority. This action does not go on the stack.
- 10/4/2004: The creature's "comes into play" abilities (and any other abilities relating to the creature coming into play) do not trigger when it turns face up.
- 10/4/2004: This card allows you to put a creature card into play without playing it and while ignoring the colored mana requirements in its cost.
- 10/4/2004: Only the controller of the face down creature can look at it.
- 5/1/2007: Putting the card into play is optional. When the ability resolves, you can choose not to.
- 4/1/2008: Usable on any card with the type Creature. This includes cards that are other types, such as Artifact Creature or Enchantment Creature cards.
- 8/1/2008: As long as it remains face-down, the creature is a 0/1 colorless creature with no name, creature type, expansion symbol, abilities, or mana cost. Since it has no mana cost, its converted mana cost is 0.
