14. Invincible Hymn

Sorcery 6WW (8) Shards of Alara (Rare)
Count the number of cards in your library. Your life total becomes that number.
  • The number of cards in your library is checked just once when this resolves. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]
  • As per Rule 215.5, setting your life total is really a gain or loss of life and will be affected by and trigger abilities that look for such. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]
  • In a Two-Headed Giant multiplayer game, this card will affect your share of your team's total. To figure this, your share is 1/2 of the current total (for example, 4 is half of 8). Then apply this effect (for example going to 20 means adding 16). Then add your opponent's 1/2 of the original total (20 plus 4 is 24). [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]

15. Knight of the Skyward Eye

When Oblivion Ring comes into play, remove another target nonland permanent from the game.
When Oblivion Ring leaves play, return the removed card to play under its owner's control.
  • If this card leaves play before the first ability resolves, the second ability won't do anything, then the first ability will remove the target from the game, and leave it removed from the game. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]
  • If the removed card is an Aura, the card's owner choose what it will enchant when it comes back to play. If there is nothing legal for it to enchant, it remains removed from the game. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]
  • If there are no nonland permanents in play other than an Obvlivion Ring, and a second one enters play, then a third one enters play, this will cause an infinite loop that ends in a draw. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]

  • If there are choices made or actions taken by the creature's controller as the creature comes into play (such as the Devour ability choosing and sacrificing), you get to make those choices and take those actions. Choices made prior to it coming into play are made normally. Look for the text "as ~this~ comes into play" for things that will act differently. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23] Some cards that are specifically affected include: Voice of All (you choose the color), Clone (you choose what it copies). [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]

Each one gets only one chance to apply, so the last one applied "wins". If there is more than one of these cards in play, they will resolve one at a time, each one calculation the life lost based on the life total at the time that one resolves. [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]
  • In a Two-Headed Giant multiplayer game, this card will affect your share of your team's total. To figure this, your share is 1/2 of the current total (for example, 4 is half of 8). Then apply this effect (for example going from 4 to 2). Then add your opponent's 1/2 of the original total (2 plus 4 is 6). [Shards of Alara FAQ 2008/09/23]
